Firm Plans Deaf Telcom Center in Md.: Financial News – Yahoo! Finance: “Neb. Telecom Firm Plans Deaf Service Center in Western Maryland

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — A Nebraska firm specializing in telecommunications for the deaf said Friday it will establish a center in Frostburg to serve Maryland residents under a $32 million state contract.

The center in the Frostburg Business Park will employ 70 to 80 full-time workers when it opens May 31, said Dixie Ziegler, vice president of Hamilton Relay Inc., of Aurora, Neb. It will likely expand to provide additional publicly funded telecom services to hearing- and speech-impaired people…”
