A Gibson County school bus carrying seven students to the West Tennessee School for the Deaf in Jackson was in an accident Wednesday morning in the city, according to school officials.
None of the children were injured, said Superintendent Robert Galloway of the Gibson County Special School District.
“I was told that the bus hit the back of another car,” Galloway said. He said he understood that the accident happened at a slow speed. He did not know details of exactly when and where it occurred.
Jackson police did not have a report on the accident available as of Wednesday night.
As protocol, Galloway said, another bus was sent to pick up the students and take them to the West Tennessee School for the Deaf, which is located at 1838 North Parkway.
An ambulance was dispatched to the school to examine the children, but they were all fine, according to school officials.
