Yet that’s exactly what happened after Kendra Keith of Hanson was abruptly cut off from the medical supplies she was receiving for her severely disabled daughter.
Keith’s 10-year-old daughter, Megan, cannot walk or talk, is legally blind and deaf, and has severe cerebral palsy. Her digestive system does not function, and she is completely dependent on the loved ones around her.
Keith and her husband, Michael, have learned to navigate the complicated world of doctors, health insurers and medical supply companies to keep Megan healthy. Among the products she needs are syringes and sterile bags to handle her digestive process.
In January, the supplier abruptly cut the family off, without explanation.
