070408_khoi_vu.jpgVANCOUVER, Wash. – Officials are searching for a missing developmentally disabled and deaf man who vanished from his Vancouver home over the weekend.

Khoi Vu, 25, walked away from his home in the 13300 block of Northeast 92nd Street in the early morning hours on Saturday.

He apparently changed clothes before leaving.

His family said his disappearance was very uncharacteristic.

The bike he would ride to the local grocery store and around the neighborhood is still in the family’s garage along with the bike helmet.

“We know that he changed his clothes before he left the residence,” said Sgt. Fred Neiman of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. “He possibly is wearing sandals. Other than that, his folks just aren’t sure what he is wearing.”

Vu is described as thin – he weighs just more than 100 pounds – and is about 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair. Even though he is deaf, he can speak a little, though his family said he functions on the level of about a 10-year-old.

If you have seen him, please contact us at (360) 828-7531, or call 911.
