Area business people learned finger spelling and workplace-related sign language today at the American Sign Language Introductory Course for Businesses.

It’s one of the educational programs the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce offers to the business community.

Students from Maryland School for the Deaf fulfilled their community service requirement for graduation by teaching the employees sign language.

The two-hour class is expected to help bridge the gap between the deaf and hearing world by introducing participants to sign language and deaf culture.
